Wayne Close, Vice President Business Development

Wayne joined Hastings Machine at the beginning of 2003; starting as the Manager of New Business Development, to become the Vice President of Business Development and a member of the Board of Directors.  Prior to Hastings, Wayne was the Quality Assurance Manager, then National Sales & Marketing Manager for a medium sized Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings manufacturer.  Prior to his PEMB roles; Wayne spent 20+ years in Class II Medical Devices in various growth roles; including Engineering/Technical design, Quality Assurance & Regulatory affairs, Certified as an  ISO-9000 Lead Auditor, Internal & 3rd Party Quality Systems Auditor.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Human Resources Management from Seton Hill University.

Wayne is married, has two sons, enjoys spending time with his family, numerous outdoor activities, and working on his “honey do” list.

William Schellhammer, Vice President, Purchasing and Human Resources

Bill began working for the Laurel Holdings, Inc family of businesses in 1977.  Since 1981, he has been with Hastings Machine in increasing roles of responsibility.  Beginning as a Machine Operator, Bill moved quickly through Floor Supervisor and Production Manager, to Vice President/Production Manager.  Bill is currently our VP responsible for Production, Purchasing, and Human Resources

Bill is married, has two children, one grandson, played guitar professionally for 21 years, and enjoys photography, art, Nascar, and STEELERS football

Tom Smychynsky, Director Manufacturing Engineering

Tom’s career path with Hastings Machine began in 1981 as a Machine Operator; he advanced through Shift Leader, Maintenance Manager, and Production Manager, to become HMC’s Director of Manufacturing Engineering. He is an NTMA Journeyman Machinist and Tool & Die maker.

Tom is married, has three children, and enjoys fishing & boating

Kevin Cunningham, Production Manager

Kevin’s broad range of experience began in 1981 as a Machine Operator with Hastings Machine; he advanced through Set-up, Maintenance, Quality Control, and Tool Sharpening responsibilities, to Shift Leader, Forklift Operator Trainer, and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, to become HMC’s Production Manager.

Kevin is married and has three children.  Kevin is very active and enjoys hunting, fishing, farming, mountain biking, atv riding, and camping, as well as, competitive archery & small-bore rifle.

Debbie Dolney, Admin., AP/AR

Deb has been with Hastings Machine since 1999 and is the glue that holds our office together.  Her responsibilities include, but are not limited to: AP/AR, Contract Review/Order Entry, Customer Service, and Inventory Control, as well as, overall office administration.

Deb took continuing education classes at Mt Aloysius College; she is the mother of three sons, and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
